Apple Gleaning 2013
Do you have an apple tree that needs picking? Do you want to pick some apples yourself? We’re helping the Great Bear Foundation and other groups to organize gleaning efforts in the Rattlesnake right now. Check out the resource list farther down this page; we’ll keep it updated throughout the remainder of the fruit season. And if you want to participate or need more info, please fill out the form immediately below specifying whether you need help or want to help out, along with any details like types of trees and a phone number to contact you, or just send us email.
- Great Bear Foundation–Call 829-9378 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. The fruit is used in various ways.
- Opportunity Resources–A small crew with a supervisor is ready to glean fruit on certain weekday mornings. Fruit on the ground will be fed to animals on the Opportunity Resources ranch. Call Sam Manno, 880-3764.
- PEAS/Garden City Harvest–Gleaning hotline: 543-4992. Fruit picked by volunteers is used to make cider at a fall celebration.
- Email Rattlesnake Creek Watershed Group at email@example.com. We may be organizing gleaning parties or we can point you in the right direction.
